Mrs. Hartman returned from maternity leave after Thanksgiving break. She has been gone since the summer, and has returned to teach 9th grade history once again.
She was replaced by Ms. Braqi, who has experience working for leave replacements having taught 7th graders at Fieldstone Middle School and Seniors at Tenafly High School.
A favorite, Ms. Braqi, was loved by many, mainly because of how laid back and calm she is. She teaches in such a way that we are learning and still having fun. She engages in lessons; she knows how to get things done efficiently. Mike Koth remarks, “She is awesome, its just a great atmosphere with her in our classroom.”
Ms. Braqi also works alongside Mrs. Ferris, another history teacher. Some class periods have Ms. Braqi and Mrs. Ferris working together and some they each work solo.
Jathaniel Iyonsi, who had co-teaching class with Ms. Braqi and Ms. Ferris states, “She was very nice and chill. She was definitely very helpful as well, so I am sad to see her go”
She is loved because how laid back she was, she never gave homework, if there was unfinished classwork sometimes that would become homework, but it was super light.
Teaching at River Dell was enjoyable for Ms. Braqi. She admitted, “One thing I love about starting a new teaching job is getting to know my new students. I also love seeing how much pride students and teachers take in being here”.
Ms. Braqi will continue with her teaching career, “After my time at River Dell, I am going to be teaching juniors at Tenafly High School again.”
Many are sad to see Ms. Braqi leave but are excited about a new start with Mrs. Hartman.
A lot of students are curious to see what Mrs. Hartman is like. Koth remarks, “I’m not too sure what to expect, I’ve heard she’s great, so I don’t think I have to worry too much.”
Iyonsi states, “I’m half and half because I really liked Ms. Braqi’s style of teaching, but I am open to see how Mrs. Hartman is.”
Some might have to adapt to Mrs. Hartman. But everyone is happy to see Mrs. Hartman come back better than ever!
