The River Edge Recreation and Green team organization is organizing a Sport Equipment & Halloween Costume Swap set for Tuesday, October 14th at 3:00-6:00 PM in the River Edge Library Parking lot. In case of rain, the event will be held on October 15th.
Bringing the community together, the event hopes to see families bring their outgrown or gently used sporting gear, equipment and Halloween costumes to trade with others.
This is a friendly way to reuse items and reduce waste and a fun way to refresh your collection and get ready for the upcoming Halloween season.
This event aims to promote community sharing, showing that swapping small items can make a big difference.
This swap has something for everyone if you’re in need of new soccer cleats or football pads, or a costume you have been looking for.
An unidentified member of the River Edge Recreation department stated, “We decided to put the Halloween costume swap with the sports equipment swap, as well, due to simply a lot of kids only wear their costumes once and they are in good condition,”
“The River Edge Recreation really wants this program to last,” said the representative. “We want this to go on for a while since it is making it easier for parents to get their child a costume without paying so much money or even the items being free”.
Any left over equipment and costumes will be is given away to schools in Paterson who are in need of costumes and sports equipment.
So, if you’ve outgrown your soccer cleats, have an extra basketball laying around, or have a costume that no longer fits, come to the Sports equipment and Halloween Costume Swap on October 14. You might leave with a new favorite item—and the good feeling of knowing you helped make River Edge a little greener and the residents a lot happier.
