Kira Picinich: former hawk; present eagle.
River Dell alum Kira Picinich, currently working for the Philadelphia Eagles, visited Mr. Sasso’s Sport Management Class this past Halloween.
Picinich explained her role within the organization to students as well as answered questions from them. Kira had a lot to say and loves her job working for the Eagles.
Kira has had experience working too as she helped her college the University of Georgia on game day and did other things to help her college team. On top of this she was also a brand ambassador for the Coke a Cola promoting their drinks on campus.
She has found herself at other amazing opportunities like working with the masters tournament with merchandising at the most high-end golf courses in the country. She has been so accomplished with her time in the sport world.
Students asked insightful questions about what she does at the Eagles organization. They learned about how she helps with ticket sales and the amazing benefits of what working for an NFL team entails.
She helps the team with their eighteen thousand season ticket holders, usually logging seventy-to-eighty-hour work weeks. She has also had other amazing experiences meeting stars like Saquan Barkley and Jalen Hurts. Kira has eaten meals with the team and has cited a strong sense of community and care within the organization.
One thing students wondered though is how does she do it all? Picinich networks and takes rejection.
She has explained that she has got hundreds of no’s before a single yes. She has mentioned that being persistent and keeping at what you want to do, and love is the key.
She explained about how she would send emails to different people within the sport world. Through this she was able to land her first job, then through networking she landed more. She stressed to the students that networking is the key to being successful.
She also explained the volunteering she has done. The Eagle’s do a lot for the city of Philadelphia. They help local communities by promoting football and donating money to help support the schools and those who face issues with starvation. Kira has also found herself within the crowd helping the Eagles run these events and help the streets of Philly.
Kira has put herself out there by networking, inviting the students to do the same. Her words clearly made an impact on the class, and her dedication is admirable.
