RDHS’s Class of 2029 invites students, families, and friends to kick off the holiday season with a special movie night screening the beloved film, Elf!
This festive event is an opportunity for the River Dell community to come together and support the freshman class.
The event will take place on December 5 in the auditorium, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the movie starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. In addition to the screening, cash concessions will be available, including popcorn and hot cocoa. Guests can also participate in cookie-decorating and craft stations.
Tickets can be purchased in advance using the Venmo QR code on the flyer, or bought directly at the door on the night of the showing. Guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the season by arriving in their favorite holiday pajamas or clothing.
Class of 2029 advisor Mrs. Arlak shared her enthusiasm for this class. “I’m excited to be the advisor for a new class. I had so much fun planning events and getting to know the students from my last class that graduated, and I’m ready to do it all over again!”
She was inspired by one of her coworkers, Mr. Meo, to run this fundraiser, which supports the Class of 2029 and helps cover costs for future events, such as the Freshman Formal, trips, and senior activities. It also benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization dedicated to curing childhood diseases like cancer.
The goal is to sell 300 tickets, and every one counts toward making your high school years more memorable and helping children and families who need it most. On top of this, freshmen who sell ten tickets will earn a discount for their Freshman Formal ticket in the spring, so spread the word to friends and family!
Looking ahead, Mrs. Arlak also mentioned that “The Class of 2029 is currently running a David’s Cookie fundraiser, and there will be an RD swag fundraiser for the class as well. The Freshman Formal will be scheduled for the spring, and [she’s] always looking for fun field trips.”
“The Holiday Movie Night will be a great opportunity to get the community involved. This is the first time I’ve organized an event like this, but I know it will be a lot of fun, and it could be a great fundraiser that we do every year!” said Arlak.
As Buddy the Elf says, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” Class of 2029 is counting on the River Dell community to spread that cheer at RDHS this year!
