On Wednesday, the River Dell girls basketball team will take the court at home to face Dumont in an exciting matchup.
The game will be played at River Dell, where players and fans are bringing strong energy and school spirit.
“We will bring all the energy that’s needed to win. We are expecting good competition,” said Dalia Interiano, a junior starting point guard who has been starting varsity since her freshman year.
River Dell pushes the pace and attempts to score as many points as they can. When not capitalizing on easy jump shots, they drive to the hoop aggressively.
The competitive nature of both teams is expected to create a fast-paced and physical game. This will keep fans engaged from start to finish.
River Dell is expected to win, since last year they pummeled the Huskies 68–30, beating them by 38 points.
River Dell returns three starting seniors: Maddie Roth, Alexa Depol, and Val Visconti. The team rounds out the starting five with two juniors, Dalia Interiano and Hope Arturi, who are expected to bring lots of energy to the team this year with their strong offensive skills.
The team is also adjusting after losing two seniors, Morgan Sconza, who now plays for Georgian Court (D2) basketball, and Kasey Zigler, both great hustlers.
Even in their absence, River Dell will be ready to take over Dumont on Wednesday night. Go Hawks!
