On Friday April 12th, the River Dell High School track athletes showcased their talents at the Aviator Relays. Hosted at Hasbrouck Heights, this meet was geared towards younger athletes and a few varsity competitors and provided a unique opportunity for runners to compete in team-oriented events rather than individual races.

“I enjoy running relays way more than running alone,” said freshman Sean Kim, who participated at the Aviator Relays. “I like how I get to race with my teammates rather than racing against them.”

Drawing in a total of 22 teams, the Aviator Relays was a highly anticipated event. Despite the tough competition, River Dell rose to the occasion, earning numerous medals across a variety of events. From sprints to jumps and throws, our athletes demonstrated their skill and hard work in every aspect of the sport.

What was most impressive was the consistent performance of River Dell athletes across all events. Whether it was dominating the 4 x 100 meter with impressive times, achieving remarkable marks in the long jump, or showcasing pure strength in the shotput, our athletes excelled in every discipline.

The hawks went on to showcase their skills once again at the upcoming Bergen County Relays, hosted by River Dell High School.
