In 2027, students from River Dell High School will have the opportunity to embark on an unforgettable educational journey through Italy and Greece, hosted by Mrs. Lenihan and Mrs. Kantanas. Designed around business education and the Hospitality & Tourism curriculum offered to students in grades 10-12, the trip combines cultural exploration with real-world learning experiences.
The program was carefully created to help students connect classroom lessons to the global tourism and business industries. Both Greece and Italy are internationally recognized for their thriving tourism economies, rich history, and strong cultural influence, making them ideal destinations for educational travel. Students will gain firsthand insight into how tourism impacts local economies while experiencing some of the world’s most historic landmarks and business centers.
“The changes that occurred with this trip were that we picked activities related to both business and tourism,” said Mrs. Lenihan.
During the trip, students will visit several remarkable locations, including the Athens Stock Exchange, where they will learn about international markets and economics. In Greece, students will also explore the Temple of Apollo and the Delphi Archaeological Museum, experiencing the country’s deep historical roots and influence on modern civilization.
“All my trips have been amazing, and the students enjoyed the activities and independence of traveling abroad,” said Mrs. Lenihan.
In Italy, students will travel through the beautiful cities of Sorrento, Rome, and Florence. One unique highlight includes a visit to a working mozzarella farm in Sorrento, where students will observe the cheesemaking process and learn how local businesses contribute to regional tourism and commerce.
With engaging activities, cultural immersion, and educational experiences, the 2027 Italy and Greece trip promises to be both meaningful and memorable for every student involved.
