Drake’s New Album Hits Number One

Drakes New Album Hits Number One

On October 21st, just after two weeks of dropping it, Drake hit No.1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart, yet again, for his newest album, For All the Dogs.

In addition, Drake released a music video to one of the songs on his album, “8am in Charlotte”, with a special appearance by his son, Adonis.

In the beginning of the music video, it was revealed that Adonis inspired the illustration for the album cover, which symbolizes Drake as “the goat”.

Although being released for only a few weeks, For All the Dogs has gotten 402,000 sales in the U.S., as well as 514 million streams, according to Luminate’s data.

The Canadian rapper and singer’s album consists of twenty-three songs, featuring other well-known artists, such as SZA, 21 Savage, J. Cole, Bad Bunny, and more!

Many people have been following Drake and his music for years, anticipating for the album to drop, since it had been previously scheduled for release on September 22nd but was pushed back to October 6th, since he had a few shows left to do in his “It’s All a Blur” tour with 21 Savage.

The day before he released his album, Drake called it, “one of my best ever”, which gave fans more anticipation for the album drop.

Although many have nothing but positive comments to say about the album, others thought it to be “his worst album in years”. On Metacritic, it is currently Drake’s lowest rated album, with a score of 52%.

Drake reported that he will be taking a temporary break from music after his release of “For All the Dogs”. He announced it on his radio show, “Table For One”, stating that he needed to “step away from music for a year or so” to focus on his health.

Whether we like the album or not, this might be one of the last albums Drake will ever release and is truly bittersweet. He has made such a huge impact on the music industry, and we hope to hear about future projects soon.
