Girls Lacrosse Pre-Season
Girls’ spring sports are starting with a bang, the girl’s lacrosse team practices begin Thursday the 14th. The returning coach, Mrs. Rickershauser, shared her thoughts on the upcoming season, some players, and personal goals for the team this year.
Rickershauser explains that the schedule starts strong with a few competitive matches at the beginning of the season. “We have a very competitive schedule as soon as the season begins, so we will have to be prepared to start strong”. Although the games start shortly after the season begins, she explained that the returning players this year will be exciting for her to watch, and the new freshmen will make a statement. “I am looking forward to seeing seniors Julia Ryan, Hannah Clancy, and Tess Tauchert. We have a large group of freshmen that I am excited to see play as well. Additionally, junior returners such as Megan Hartnett, Sam Idiculla, Mia Kurtz, and Sarah Keery are always fun to watch.”
Senior Hannah Clancy explains how she feels about the upcoming season. “I am excited for the upcoming season; it is going to feel a little different because we lost so many seniors last year and we were a very close team. This is my last season and sport I am playing in high school, so I am excited to just play and be with my team”.
She also reached out about her opinion on Coach Rick. “[She’s] one of my favorite coaches, she always makes lacrosse fun to be a part of even when we are practicing for games. She also shows us what we do wrong and how to fix it so we can become better as a team”.
Besides players, Coach Rick is looking forward to working more on the aspect of the team’s goals this year.
She plans to continue to work on improving the girls and team so that they can be the best version of themselves. “Our goal for the season is always to continue to improve as a team”.
