Everyone’s favorite time of the year is right around the corner. With winter break coming up, everyone is finishing up with homework, quizzes, tests, and ready to take away their laptops and relax for a good two weeks.
When it comes to the holidays, people who celebrate Christmas are getting gifts together, putting up their Christmas tree, and probably watching holiday and or Christmas movies. Christmas movies are a great way to get into the holiday spirit and is my favorite thing to watch during the month of December.
Christmas movies can be filled with adventure and fun. When I watch Christmas movies, I enjoy them a lot with my family and gets me in the holiday mood. There are tons of movies to watch that are full of both adventure and fun that are some of my favorites and that I believe are the best ones to watch during the holiday season.
When I think of a Christmas movie, I immediately think of either Elf or Home Alone. Those two movies are so similar in different ways. They are both funny, filled with adventure and fun, and are classics.
Elf was created back in 2003 and stars Will Ferrell. It is about Buddy, a human who lives in the North Pole with Santa Claus and the elves and discovers that he has a father who lives in New York City. He is on this journey to reconnect with him after a long time and struggles through the human world. Even though he is struggling, Buddy spreads holiday cheer and helps his father reconnect with his family and shows people believing in the magic of Christmas.
Home Alone was created in 1990 and stars Macaulay Culkin. It is about an 8-year-old boy named Kevin McCallister who is accidentally left behind when his family goes on vacation for Christmas. As Kevin is home alone, two burglars are trying to rob his house. Kevin uses his creativity and resourcefulness to set up a series of elaborate traps to protect his house.
When it comes to those two movies, those are my favorite movies of all time during the holiday season. People I know have seen those movies way too many times. When I asked them about their favorite holiday movies, those two movies were mainly the ones mentioned about being their favorite. This goes to show why Elf and Home Alone are the best holiday movies of all time.
Those movies are both great for watching with your families during the holiday and winter break. You can watch Elf on Max or Hulu and Home Alone is available to watch on Disney+.
