Big news hit the halls this week. Our very own gym teacher, Mr. Looram, just became a grandfather!
Mr. Looram, known for being a loyal alumnus to this school has been very joyous the past few weeks and shared with some of his classes about his new grandson, Colin.
Students and staff were thrilled to hear the exciting announcement, congratulating him between classes and during gym sessions. Mr. Looram is a proud grandfather and even was gifted a hoodie that says “GRANDPA” for Christmas last year as a surprise.
When Mr. Loram first found out he was a grandfather he was “extremely excited to see what flavor baby they were going to have.” And when he first met his grandson, he was “extremely happy that his son could actually produce something like that, “he said wryly.
Mr. Looram did not have any big expectations of becoming a grandfather, but he says that it’s a lot of fun and it keeps him busy. Since his son and family live nearby, he gets to see the happy family almost every day.
Mr. Looram is very proud, and he said that becoming a grandpa means that he survived, raising his children right, and they got to build their own family, and he is happy to see this happen.
Mr. Looram is excited to make new memories with his new grandson. He looks forward to sharing adventures with Colin like baking, skiing, and celebrating holidays together.
There is a tradition within the family that every Thanksgiving they listen to “Alice’s Restaurant” by Arlo Guthrie which is a protest song about the Vietnam War which will now include Colin.
As we know, Mr. Looram loves to cook and bake, and he is always up to trying new things. Because he wants to share some of his favorite foods when his grandson is older, he is teaching his daughter-in-law some of his recipes and Mr. Looram can’t wait till his grandson is of the age to cook and be in the kitchen with him.
