March 22nd is the PSAT for Sophomores! It is a digital test for these students who want to prepare for the official SAT next year.
Sophomores will have until Friday, February 21st at 6pm to register through a form link and hand in the fee of $40 to the main office by the 28th.
The only test day is on a Saturday and students will check in at 7:15 AM at the high school’s front entrance.
When they arrive, the students should have a photo ID or passport, their school computer fully charged, a pencil or pen for scrap, and they may bring a personal calculator but one is always provided within the test.
The College Board provides their own website with links for practice tests and exercises so students can feel more prepared and confident.
Mrs. Luberto, the HS senior options coordinator and volleyball coach explained, “The PSAT is a great way to prepare yourself for the SAT since it provides the necessary information on academic strengths and weaknesses.” She continued, “This type of testing is a way to hold us accountable for our own education and to improve. Students can prepare for their PSAT and SAT through sample tests on the College Board website. They can become familiar with the content and time themselves.”
Sophomore Kaylin Park said, “Honestly, I’m pretty nervous for it. I already took the PSAT earlier this year and since then, I’ve been doing more practice problems. I’m really hoping for some improvement.”
