Saturday March 8th is also known as International Women’s Day. International Women’s Day is about celebrating the amazing women we have in our lives and all over the world. It’s a day to show appreciation and admire all the achievements women have made, realizing how many challenges they still face.
No matter if it’s standing up for women’s rights, becoming a mother or just being a woman, they are always pushing the ‘’normal’’ boundaries making history. This is an important day to support each other, making sure every woman gets the respect and opportunities she deserves. While this day is coming up, we’d like to appreciate all female River Dell staff members for all they’ve done for the students and school in general.
One teacher who receives a happy International Women’s Day is Mrs.Lauterback!!
International Women’s Day shows importance for Mrs. Lauterback since it brings attention on the rights and freedom, she is able to enjoy while many women around the world aren’t always able to do.
She believes it is important to stick up and help other women that are in dangerous positions, such as being forced into arranged marriages or living under the control of men without the right to choose their own paths.
Mrs. Lauterback is inspired by the singer Pink who represents the idea of staying true to yourself and not caring about judgments. This inspiration helps her believe and understand the importance of International Women’s Day when it comes to supporting women’s rights and challenging the values men have made over the years.
Throughout her teaching career, Mrs. Lauterback has learned many valuable advice to women also plans on entering the teaching career.
She understands how teaching has always been seen as a ‘’female field’’, but with her second job as a gymnastic coach she’s also realized the progress in male-dominated areas.
For example, in gymnastics female coaches now train Olympians. In order to fight back any negative stereotypes of feminism in the workplace her best advice would be calling out inappropriate behavior or kill it with kindness.
Mrs. Lauterback’s dedication to her everyday life as a teacher, gymnastics coach, mother, and wife shows how important the need to appreciate and celebrate women is, especially on International Women’s Day. Mrs.Lauterback dedication including other female staff at River Dell High School, deserve gratefulness and gratitude for their hard work and everything they do
